The Rev. Miriam Acevedo, M. Div., D.Min
The Rev. Miriam Acevedo, BFA., M. Div., D. Min. Miriam was born in New York City in 1951. Her parents were both from Puerto Rico. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Pratt Institute, New York, a Master in Divinity from General Theological Seminary in New York and a Doctor of Ministry from Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, M.A. Miriam was ordained a deacon in 1983 in the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in NYC and ordained a priest in 1984 in the historic Christ Church in Philadelphia. She has served parishes in Philadelphia, and Massachusetts where she also served as the Protestant Chaplain at Tufts University in the Somerville, MA. [1998 - 2001]. It was her great joy to arrive at St. Christopher's on May 1, 2000. She is a certified Kripalu Yoga teacher. Her family consists of her daughter Liz, her 96 year old mother Carmen, Zoe the cat and her almost constant companion Georgia who is a Standard Poodle. Miriam’s passion is to see St. Christopher’s continue to grow as a community of strong followers of Jesus.
